Madonna was very much not at Coachella over the weekend. Thanks to Instagram, the singer’s 9.1 million followers know she spent her Sunday evening doing the exact opposite of sweating in the desert. Instead, she took a bubble bath loaded with fresh basil.

Leave it to the Queen of Reinvention to find a new way to use a leaf most commonly associated with pasta night. If you’re looking for a natural brightening agent to add to DIY face masks or a moisturizing balm for hair, you can now look no further than the vegetable crisper.

Turns out that basil is beneficial for both skin and hair. Basil oil can help with acne, skin redness, and even scalp dryness. Its natural antiseptic properties make it especially helpful in facial cleansers. Like Madonna, you can simply add it to your bath and watch it work its magic. Plan B: Look for basil and basil oil in naturally infused cleansers like Murad’s Essential-C Cleanser and Origins Mega-Mushroom Skin Relief Facial Cleanser.

When you’re Madonna, the pampering gets even deeper than a freshly seasoned bath. According to her caption, she followed up with finishing cream from her own skin care line, MDNA Skin. The cream — which sounds like some sort of uber-moisturizing night cream — hasn’t yet been announced on MDNA’s website. Could Madonna be using her own bath to drop hints about her newest product? We’ll be on the lookout, and in the meantime, we’re switching pasta night to spa night.
