Louis Vuitton's Best Runway Beauty Moments

French businessman Louis Vuitton was born August 4th, 1821, and before he created his eponymous brand of leather goods, he was a royal trunk maker for Empress Eugénie de Montijo, wife of Napoleon III. Having grown up during the Industrial Revolution, he became an apprentice to a box maker before becoming a premiere artisan on his own. He was famous for this stackable rectangular trunks, as round-shaped boxes were the norm at the time. Since then, Louis Vuitton has not only become an international luxury brand, but also part of a mega conglomerate known as LVMH. In 1997, American designer Marc Jacobs became the artistic director, unveiling its first ready-to-wear collection and expanding beyond leather goods. In 2013, French designer Nicolas Ghesquière replaced Jacobs. Today, we look back at the luxury brand’s best runway beauty looks that have complemented the clothing on the catwalk. The hair and makeup is both entertaining and monumental — not a small feat for a ready-to-wear label that’s only been around for less than 20 years.
