Kesha's Dip-Dyed Blue Hair is Totally Wearable – Here’s How

Kesha is pretty much fearless when it comes to dying her hair (and everything else right now), so the new change shouldn’t surprise us, but we’re still totally obsessed. The singer’s stunning look is a newly dip-dyed blue hair color that she recently debuted on her Instagram account, before jetting off to the Caribbean to temporarily escape all the drama surrounding her recent lawsuit.

The star posted her latest style in a photo of herself playing the guitar with her blue-colored tips cascading over her face. She captioned the picture: “Can’t sleep. Just up all day all night writing. My mind is possessed. I have so much to say right now,“ seemingly referencing her harrowing legal troubles.

We love Kesha’s mermaid locks for springtime, so if you’re considering jumping on board with a bright hair color but don’t want to commit to a full-on dye job, opt for an at-home coloring service that’ll only last up to 10 shampoos. We like Splat Colorizer Color Toning Conditioner in Bossy Blue ($8) for a temporary, less damaging dye job.

To create Kesha’s two-toned hue on blonde hair, the Splat team says to squeeze the dye onto your hands (make sure to wear gloves!) and rub the formula into hair at mid-length. Leave the dye on for only 5 minutes to create a softer, more natural-looking tone, then, add the dye to the ends of the hair, leaving it on for 10 to 15 minutes. The deeper color shade at the tips of the hair will create that gorgeous fade throughout the whole head. Dark-haired ladies should leave the dye on a minute or two longer until the color becomes visibly bright against the hair. Once all is said and done, you’ll be left with pretty, new mermaid locks and all the feel-good vibes that go along with it!
