Karl Lagerfeld’s Cat Choupette Lands Beauty Line

Karl Lagerfeld’s famous cat, Choupette, has over 40,000 Twitter followers, 21,000 Instagram followers, a website, a book deal, and a portfolio of shoots for magazines like Vanity Fair and Harper’s Bazaar alongside models like Laetitia Casta. Naturally, Shu Uemura is giving the blue-eyed kitty her own makeup collection.

Lagerfeld has a longstanding relationship with the Japanese makeup brand—he uses their cosmetics to color in his fashion sketches and collaborated on a holiday collection with them in 2012. So it’s not surprising that when Choupette decided to branch out into cosmetics, her owner went straight to Shu. The results: Shupette, a collection of makeup and skincare products packaged in the designer’s illustrations of of his pretty pet.

According to Women’s Wear Daily, Choupette’s deemed the line “Glamorpuss luxury.” The collection includes eye and lip palettes, pink feather false eyelashes, nail polish, and an eyelash curler with a Shupette charm—what more could a girl want?  How about an eye shadow the color of Choupette’s blue eyes?  Shu Uemura’s international artistic director, Kakuyasu Uchiide, also created four cat eye looks you can do at home using the collection.

Shupette launches online at shuuemura-usa.com in October, but you can enter the brand’s Instagram competition starting October 1 by posting selfies and cat photos (which, let’s be honest, you probably already have) to win a signed makeup trunk.
