This Iconic Florida Swimming Pool Hosted a Puppy Pool Party Yesterday

From Country Living

The Venetian Pool, a historic 1923 public pool just outside of Miami, welcomed local dogs to take a dip at its 10th annual "Paws in the Pool" celebration yesterday. The puppy pool party started with a morning session for dogs less than 30 pounds and wrapped up with an afternoon session for large dogs.

The sessions were open to the first 200 dogs who arrived-which included this adorable dachshund squad.

Another dachshund broke away from the pack for a solo swim.

Even though this Chihuahua looked a bit apprehensive about going swimming, she sure looked cute in her paw-print swimsuit!

This Norwich terrier posed in front of one of the two waterfalls at the Venetian Pool.

These two dachshunds looked totally at home in their duck pool float.

While this big guy wasn't so sure about the whole thing...

COWABUNGA!

The Venetian Pool is scheduled to reopen on Wednesday, October 5 after being emptied and refilled with fresh spring water from the underground aquifer that feeds the 820,000 gallon pool.
