How to Get Blake Lively’s Crimpy Waves

This week, Blake Lively secured her position as queen of maternity style, taking the internet by storm when she wore seven flawless pregnancy getups in just two days. She didn’t stop there, though. Yesterday the actress stepped on with big, crimpy waves that were a major departure from her signature beach waves and pin straight locks.

With perms and gorgeous natural textures on the rise, we’ll probably be seeing more of Blake’s messy finger waves that will hold up in the summer humidity.

Kerastase hairstylist Odile Gilbert created a look similar to Blake’s for Thakoon’s Spring 2013 runway. She prepped hair with a heat protector, then used a three-barrel curling iron, spraying each section with hairspray and finishing the look with a pea-sized amount of oil for natural shine.

If heat styling isn’t your thing, you still have options. Try French braiding damp hair before you go to bed – one braid for loose crimps, and two or more for tight ones. Add styling cream in the morning for a clean finish. We love to see a mom-to-be setting style and beauty trends, and Blake is showing us all how it’s done.
