We’ve seen everything from nail polish and eyelashes, to foundation and fake tan. But when it comes to the “100 Layers” challenge, there’s one beauty frontier that’s yet to be conquered — hair.

Naturally, there’s a YouTube star ready to step up to the challenge. Kayley Melissa, creator of many cute hair tutorials, decided that the world needed to see what 100 layers of hair extensions looked like.

With over 4 pounds of hair at her disposal, Kayley made sure to attach the 100 extensions onto each other, rather than onto her own hair.

“I’m genuinely concerned that if I put them in the way you’re supposed to, it would rip all of my hair out because these are really heavy,” she says.

Her video has gone viral, with more than 1.7 million views on YouTube, and in it, Kayley gives frank advice to viewers about the crazy style. “I don’t know if anyone’s going to ask me if this is actually good for your extensions or your hair, but the answer is ‘no.’”

At the 75-hair-extensions mark, Kayley does a little spin and admits she feels exactly like Hermione in Harry Potter — well, before she figured out the true magic of the de-frizz.

With all 100 extensions in, Kayley’s a “mountain of hair,” but then, it’s time to play with her new locks. Somehow, pulling off the most epic bun ever — which she admits is “like a tumor the size of my head” — Kayley then styles an enormous fishtail braid.
