Graco Baby has issued a recall for more than 25,000 car seats citing that they may not properly restrain children in the event of a crash. The recall came after the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced on Wednesday that the Graco My Ride 65 convertible car seat did not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.

"During a test of the individual harness restraint component, the webbing on certain My Ride 65 convertible car seats did not meet federal requirements for breaking strength," the company explained in a statement on their website. This is the second Graco My Ride 65 recall since 2014, at that time, along with other models, nearly 1.9 million front-facing seats were taken off shelves due to a faulty buckle.

Units that have a webbing code tag of 2014/06 are also affected. The model number and date of manufacture can be found on a white label on the back of the car seat. The webbing tag code is located on the webbing of the harness on the back of the car seat.

Over the past 60 years, safety has been and will continue to be our priority at Graco. As part of Graco's continuous process of reviewing the quality of its products, Graco is recalling the harness restraints on certain My Ride 65 convertible car seats that were manufactured during the summer of 2014 and sold in the U.S. and Canada. In accordance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 213, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) evaluates the restraint system compliance including the individual components of the car seat and the complete car seat in a dynamic crash simulation. During a test of the individual harness restraint component, the webbing on certain My Ride 65 convertible car seats did not meet federal requirements for breaking strength. Out of an abundance of caution, Graco is notifying consumers who may be impacted and is providing, free of charge, replacement kits with new harness restraints and installation instructions. While waiting for a replacement kit, consumers may continue to use My Ride 65 convertible car seats.
