Exclusive First Look: Gigi Hadid & Tommy Hilfiger’s New Fragrance

Who’s the it girl? Gigi Hadid is the incontestable answer these days. The social supermodel just created a fragrance with Tommy Hilfiger called The Girl, and set that title in stone.

“The Girl means being true to yourself and having fun while you’re at it,” said Gigi. “For me, that’s appreciating every moment, laughing at myself, and surrounding myself with everything that makes me feel happy.” The Girl’s crisp and fresh scent is inspired by Hadid’s individuality, confidence, and magnetic, free-spirited personality. It has undertones of green pear, violet leaf, and green fig leaves, and notes of jasmine petals, silky muguet, cedarwood and cashmeran.

“It’s fun to be in a campaign that’s seductive yet lighthearted and playful,” says Gigi. “I can’t wait for everyone to see what we shot – there are a lot of surprises to come!” A few behind the scenes shots from Hadid’s photoshoot for her personal Tommy Hilfiger collection tell us a bit about what some of those surprises might entail.

Ever try to achieve Gigi’s signature beach waves and get it all wrong? For us, it always comes out too perfect or too stringy. But Hadid revealed a secret to the flawlessly discheveled look on set of her Tommy shoot. “Self-gripping rollers are great for any hair if you want volume with soft movement,” Hadid’s go-to hairstylist Jennifer Yepez told Harper’s Bazaar. “Just get the size you like for your hair length.” Gigi was spotted with classic Velcro hair curlers before stepping in front of the camera. To get the look, Yepez placed the curler in the middle of the hair, rather than at the bottom, then rolled up to avoid tangling.

And in true it girl fashion, Hadid’s makeup is in line with the newest trends. Her nontour, blushed lips, and wide eyes are true to the season’s fresh styles, to the T. A white waterline and taupe flick makeup artist Patrick Ta’s secret to Gigi’s sexy but fresh eye makeup. Kabuki, who did Gigi’s makeup on set, stayed true to her now-signature look. By August you can look, and smell, just like this it girl.
