#CopyThat: Zoe Saldana’s Periwinkle Eyes

Zoe Saldana is beautiful inside and out. Every time we watch an interview with the Star Trek Beyond actress, we are transfixed by her intellect. Saldana also leaves us astounded by her elegance whenever she walks the red carpet. It doesn’t hurt that her husband, Marco Perego, is just as good-looking!

While making promo rounds at Comic-Con for the latest installation in the Star Trek franchise, Saldana, 38, wore the prettiest shade of periwinkle eyeshadow. Her pastel makeup also complemented her powder-blue Givenchy dress and matching heels. This look may seem not of this world, but it’s actually really simple to copy. Watch the video above, as makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes shows us exactly how to do it.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Apply a metallic taupe eyeshadow (Hughes used Milk Makeup Eye Pigment in Peep Show) to eyelids for a luminous base.

  2. Layer purple eye shadow on top (try the Amethyst Aura Pixi Mesmerizing Mineral Palette), focusing on the center of lids and outer corners of eyes.

  3. Use Hourglass Mechanical Gel Eye Liner in Obsidian to tight-line the eyes (outlining under upper lid and on waterline), and layer on a lash-thickening mascara like Maybelline Lash Sensational Washable Mascara. This combo will help to intensify eye makeup.

  4. Add a bit of warmth to apple of cheeks with a pink-peach blush such as the Marc Jacobs Blush Soft Glow Duo in Kink & Kisses 504.

  5. Apply a pink lipstick (we recommend Chanel Rouge Allure Lipstick in Séduisante 91) to the lower lip and then press lips together to evenly disperse pigment. Swipe on a shimmering lip gloss (Chanel Lèvres Scintillantes Glossimer in Rose Tendre 204) in the center of mouth before adding another layer of lipstick (L’Oréal Colour Riche Lipcolour in Julianne’s Pink 701) for more depth.

  6. Brush on Trish McEvoy Brow Gel, in clear, to define eyebrows, and your look is complete!
