#CopyThat: How to Get Ariana Grande’s Bold Magenta Lip

There’s only one word to describe Ariana Grande’s MAC Viva Glam II campaign, and that is bold!

The 23-year-old pop star literally transformed into a life-size doll for the visuals. Dressed in bubbly pink from head to toe and sporting her signature high ponytail adorned with a gigantic bow, Grande sure knows how to play coy. But it’s her bright pink lip look that left us totally mesmerized.

For Grande and MAC’s second collaboration, the beauty and brand created an orchid pink lipstick and mauve pink lip gloss that will launch this September. All proceeds from sales of the Viva Glam II products will benefit HIV/AIDS research.

Even though there’s roughly two months left until you can score these products, you don’t have to wait until then to get Grande’s magenta lip look. Watch the video above (or read below) to follow MAC Cosmetics Senior Artist Gina Bettelli’s step-by-step instructions.

After you’ve prepped your eyelids (try MAC Prep + Prime 24-Hour Extend Eye Base for long-lasting makeup), use a blending brush to apply MAC Eyeshadow in Dazzlelight to the brow bone and inner corner of eyes. Next, add a light beige eyeshadow onto the lid and into the crease.

Outline the upper lash line with a rich black eye pencil like MAC Kohl Power in Feline to Then, brush through to create a smoked-out effect. Trace the upper lash line with MAC Penultimate Eye Liner in Rapidblack and line the waterline with black eye pencil for a true cat eye. Swipe the top and bottom eyelashes with a volumizing mascara such as MAC In Extreme Dimension Lash.

Fill in lips with a creamy bright pink lip liner (Betteli used MAC Lip Pencil in Magenta) before using a brush to apply the MAC Viva Glam Ariana Grande II Lipstick. For lustrous shine, add a bit of MAC Viva Glam Ariana Grade II Lipglass to the center of the mouth.

Complete the makeup look by warming up cheeks with a peachy-beige blush like MAC Cream Colour Base in Bamboo.
