Charlize Theron Has a Fuller Figure for New Film Role as Mother of Three

Charlize Theron is known for her slim frame on the red carpet, but the actress has a curvier figure on the set of her new film.

In photos taken during a shoot of Tully in Vancouver, the blonde beauty appears to have gained weight for her role as Marlo, a mother of three including a newborn. Instead of a glamorous fitted gown, her apparel consists of baggy jeans, a T-shirt and a plaid flannel.

It's not clear if Theron, 41, is wearing a bodysuit for some extra padding or if she's gained the weight for the Jason Reitman-directed flick, although there are reports that the actress packed on 35 lbs. for the part.

Charlize Theron's Changing Looks

Theron recently shared a photo of her on-set chair, embroidered with her character's name, on the first day of shooting.

It wouldn't be the first time the actress made a dramatic body transformation for a role. In 2004, Theron was awarded an Oscar for her portrayal of serial killer Aileen Wuornos in Monster, for which she gained over 30 lbs. and wore a prosthetic nose. More recently, the actress shaved her head for her role as Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road.

Theron has previously admitted to being typecast as the "pretty girl," resulting in her losing movie roles.

"Jobs with real gravitas go to people that are physically right for them and that's the end of the story," she told British GQ for their May issue. "How many roles are out there for the gorgeous, f---ing, gown-wearing eight-foot model? When meaty roles come through, I've been in the room and pretty people get turned away first."
