Cara Delevingne is never one to shy away from a bold makeup statement, and her beauty look for Comic Con was no exception. The playfully graphic cat eye in electric blue was inspired by Delevingne’s feminine but edgy demeanor, as well as her character in Suicide Squad, Enchantress.

The bold eye definitely enchanted us. “She’s never afraid to try new ideas,” the model turned actress’s makeup artist, Molly R Stern, tells Teen Vogue. No surprise, she just ditched the cut she’s had for years in favor of a modern lob. “She’s always open to the creative collaboration… she left feeling great and excited to be part of the pack.”

Delevingne just chopped lots of length from her blonde tresses.

Stern laid out the steps for achieving Cara’s look, and it’s all about skincare. She prepped her skin with Caudalie Beauty Elixir ($49) followed by Oxygen Serum ($153) then Oxygen Cream ($90) by Natura Bisse. She evened out Delevingne’s skin tone with Rimmel London BB Cream Matte in Medium ($10) for a sheer glow, and gave her a subtle contour and blush using Rimmel London Sculpting and Highlighting Kit by Kate Moss in Golden Bronze ($10). She matched Cara’s cheeks, lips, and lids, using Rimmel London’s Provocalips 16HR Kissproof Lip Color in Dare to Pink ($7) and a dusting of soft pink iridescent shadow on the lids. Then, using a combination of electric blue and turquoise she lined the eye sharply from the lash line and out. She added a smoky effect blow her lower lash line with taupe shadow and finished off the look by enhancing her signature brows with Rimmel London Brow This Way Sculpting Kit in Blonde ($5).

Suicide Squad goals at Comic Con.

As for making the makeup stick all day in the muggy Comic Con heat, Stern let out a major celebrity secret. “I follow her around and touch her up throughout the day!” says Stern. “So if we all had makeup artists following us around we could maintain our freshness too! But generally for a long day ‘less is more,’ always makes a huge difference. If you let your skin breath a bit, by keeping it sheer, touching up makes more sense and doesn’t build up and end up looking like cake batter on the skin.”
