Can Mandy Moore Bring Back Blair Waldorf’s Fave Accessory?
Among the celebs and editors distracting us from the main events on the runway at New York Fashion Week yesterday was Mandy Moore. If she is any indication of what’s to come in hair accessories this fall, start growing out those bangs now to prepare for the return of statement headbands.
Made of fringed black fabric that echoed the lace roses of her top, this headband is more crown than utilitarian device. The image evoked a Spanish countess of yore — though, thankfully, she left the shawl, long skirt, and fan at home in favor of tapered jeans. The headband is part of a collaboration between luxury hair brand Jennifer Behr and Lela Rose and is available for $265, with a portion of sales going to Planned Parenthood.
“Sometimes you need a little @jenniferbehr headband to take your mind off of carbo-loading and pms-induced breakouts,” Moore wrote on Instagram of the look. We also can’t blame the This Is Us star for wanting to take a break from the ’80s bangs and wig she wears for the show.
But speaking of TV hair, there’s a subset of TV fans who would be very excited to see Moore’s headband become a thing: Gossip Girl fans. Not since we said “XOXO” to Blair Waldorf’s (Leighton Meester) massive collection have we felt such a drive to push back our locks just so.
Not that Moore, or anyone else for that matter, can touch Blair in this category.
