Celebrity and editorial manicurist Kimmie Kyees, whose handiwork has been worn by Katy Perry, Adele, Meghan Trainor, and Nicki Minaj, reunited with Rihanna to create a stunning mani fit for the Video Vanguard Award recipient. She painted the star’s long, stiletto nails in Red Carpet Manicure Red Carpet Ready 1-Step LED Gel Polish in the shade Hopeless Romantic. And the nail polish costs only $12.99!
“We wanted to find a color that would match any outfit and makeup changes she may have throughout the show, so we chose a beautiful mauve color with a subtle shimmer that looks gorgeous against her skin tone,” said Kyees.
Because this instant gel polish requires no base or top coat, it helped to cut down on time waiting for wet nails to dry. Kyees filed Rihanna’s fingernails into a narrow, pointy shape, brushed on the color, cured it with the brand’s LED light device for 30 seconds, and Riri was ready to rock the VMAs stage.
