Like most people who followed the trends of the early 2000s, Busy Philipps had super-skinny eyebrows. Philipps maintained her natural brow shape, but she let her blond brows be thin, light, and ever-tweezed.

And while many other celebrities lost their brows forever during this terrible time, Philipps is glad to say that hers grew back. “Thank God my eyebrows grew back,” Philipps wrote in a tribute post to her 15-year friendship with Michelle Williams.

“Can I just say — we aren’t at a costume party in 2001,” she poked fun at the trends of the time. “That’s legit how we were dressed for a regular night out.”

Others whose brows suffered the wrath of 2000s trends weren’t so lucky, though. And for them, it’s probably harder to laugh off the trends that they tried out 15 years ago, considering they still live on their faces. For those whose brows are frozen in 2001, there are a few options for trying to salvage the hairs that haven’t come back. RapidLash Eyebrow Enhancing Serum is one of the most highly reviewed products on the market, with many people reporting regrowth. Another option, for those who prefer natural products, is castor oil, which is known to thicken any type of hair. Still, some people will never get their brows back with overgrooming and will sadly live with regret forever.
