This Bracelet May Help You Avoid Getting Sunburnt

You should still wear sunscreen, though.

Summer is the time to get outside and enjoy all that nature has to offer — but sometimes that can come at a price, and sometimes that price hurts just a little bit. Though we've come a long way and now know a ton about sun protection, including the best sweat-proof makeup and how to stealthily hide sunburns with concealer, it'd be even better to not get sunburnt in the first place — and that's why the tech company Netatmo has stepped up to create a brand new bracelet called the June bracelet that can help do just that.

To put it simply, the bracelet tells you when you've spent too much time in the sun. But how exactly does it do that? According to the Bloomingdale's website where the bracelet is sold, June "measures your sun exposure and gives you real-time, personalized advice on how to protect your skin from harmful, skin-aging UV exposure." Sounds pretty great, if you ask me!

June also works with an app (as most things do) that gives you information about your daily sun dose, UV index, sun exposure timeline, UV forecast, and some other recommendations that aren't specified on the website. The bracelet is said to be "splashproof," though it's unclear if this means it's waterproof to any certain depth or not, so it may be best to remove it before taking a dip in the pool. Obviously, this stylish gadget won't replace sunscreen (and nothing should!), but it could give you some helpful information about your daily sun exposure if you're up for trying it out. Buy it at Bloomingdale's for $99.99 here.
