Boyhood star Ellar Coltrane’s good looks just nabbed him a modeling contract with Wilhelmina. After spending 12 years shooting the Oscar-winning drama, Coltrane is momentarily shifting from the big screen to editorial. But the 20-year-old is not new to the fashion scene—Saint Laurent’s creative director Hedi Slimane already shot him for V Man, the male version of V Magazine, in a black leather jacket and denim vest. For his next job, Coltrane will be shot by photographer Bruce Weber for L’Uomo Vogue.

While actresses transition back and forth from movies and TV to modeling, it is not as common to see male actors secure modeling contracts. Apart from Coltrane, other actors have slowly made the move over to modeling. Ethan Hawke, who plays Coltrane’s father in Boyhood, starred in the new Prada men’s campaign next to the cute Ansel Elgort from The Fault In Our Stars. Both looked pretty dapper with sharp suits and sleek hair. Meanwhile, The Theory of Everything actor Eddie Redmayne served as the face of Burberry’s Spring Summer 2012 campaign with Cara Delevingne.

We must admit, the actor-turns-model trend is a refreshing change. Hopefully, this is only the beginning.
