This Blackhead-Busting Face Oil Hits Sephora Shelves Today

I could fill annals upon annals regarding my love for Sunday Riley’s Luna Sleeping Night Oil ($105), and I think I may have almost successfully done that if you type in the product’s name into the search section of this site. It’s so good—like the type of product I’ve literally told strangers on the street about good—that I firmly believe it should be a staple in everyone’s medicine cabinet if they want clearer, glowier skin.

And now, I’m at a weird crossroads where I think I might have found a product that I’m ready to (gasp!) swap it with. (Dear Luna Sleeping Night Oil: I’m not looking at this as a full-on beauty breakup, but, instead, a short pause in our relationship.) It’s called U.F.O. Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil ($80), it’s still from the Sunday Riley brand and it’s sort of like the green-hued second cousin of my favorite.

What makes this oil a little different is that it really tackles acne—including blackheads—and the spots that linger on after a pimple is gone. It has a high percentage of salicylic acid, yet isn’t at all hard on sensitive skin, and sort of does the almost-impossible task of taking all the congestion and "gunk" out of pores to make your complexion look instantly better and brighter.

I’ve only been using it for a few days now and I can already see a difference—especially in the discoloration department, which is always a major A-plus for anyone with spots and PIH. It also has this relaxing chamomile-tea tree scent that just feels like you are putting something good on your skin, even if you have a little bit of lingering guilt about leaving your all-time go-to product behind.
