Bella Hadid's Hair is Red on the Versace Runway and it Looks Amazing

Bella Hadid's hair has received quite a lot of attention during Milan Fashion Week. The Internet buzzed when she walked her first runway with a shoulder-length lob and a significantly darker shade of brunette (it's now nearly black). Then tonight, at Versace's fall 2017 show, Hadid walked the runway with bright red extensions that looked so good, we think she should seriously consider trying out the fun hue for a little while.
And we think Hadid felt the same way. "I wanna dye my hair red!" she exclaimed backstage after the extensions were glued in and trimmed with a razor to match her natural length. It was something about the bright crimson against the richness of her new black-brown hue, plus struck the perfect balance between punk and sexy.
Hadid wasn't the only one, however, who walked the runway with colorful extensions. More than half of the models who walked the show received red, blue, yellow, or orange extensions, including her sister Gigi, supermodel Amber Valetta, Catherine McNeil, Mica Arganaraz, and Behati Prinsloo. "It's Donatella’s vision of the Versace woman today without any references other than the Versace idea of glamour, sexiness, and street," said hairstylist Guido. "And colorful hair like this, you see it on the street with girls using hair color really as cosmetics. So it’s really a reflection of what you see women doing today."
To help with the look, Guido brought on London-based colorist Josh Wood to work with Versace on getting the shades just right, dying real hair to make sure they looked as vibrant and natural as possible when glued into the models hair. Guido also made sure to style the extensions once they were attached, running a bit of Redken Pillow Proof Primer Spray throughout the models' natural hair and blow-drying it with his hands (not a brush) to enhance the model's natural texture, wrapping a few random sections around a curling iron to add a very subtle bend.
Makeup artist Pat McGrath complemented the colorful streaks with graphic wings in a shade that wouldn't clash. "It's black on black on black on black," she laughed, referencing the fact that she created the fierce shape with pencil, followed by a cream, followed by a powder to set it all in place and make it as opaque as possible. The girls looked badass as they stomped down the runway, but as we know from all the fun hair color we see on the streets in every day life, those streaks-on-streaks-on-streaks-on-streaks would look good any way you style them.
