Adele Is Makeup-Free and Sick but Still Stunning

On Wednesday night, Adele proved to anyone who didn’t already know (no one) that she’s perfect no matter what, when she posted a video for the world to see without an ounce of makeup on her face. Not only was she au naturel, she was also battling a cold — and she looked stunning. How does she do it? A mystery that’s yet to be solved.

The singer had to cancel her Aug. 17 concert in Phoenix because she was feeling under the weather. Instead of just bailing, with just a statement from her people, she sent a message to her fans via Instagram video, like the class act she is.

Would we display a cold to the world sans concealer, blush, and mascara? Crusty nose, red eyes, and a lot of snot? Not an image we’d submit our worst enemies to. But Adele? Absolutely flawless.

“I can’t do my show tonight, my second show here. I’m really really sorry. I’ve had a cold for a couple of days, and I’ve been pushing through it, and I did my show last night and I loved it but I pushed too hard and my cold has gotten the better of me,” the British singer said. “And as you can hear, even if I did the show, it wouldn’t be very good.” As if that were possible.

“I’m really really really really sorry to let anyone down,” she added. “Canceling shows has not been something I want to do and I’ve pushed through a lot of things. But I’ve been trying to sing all morning and warming up and nothing’s really happening.”

This came just a day after posting two behind-the-scenes photos of herself without makeup, boasting beautifully thick eyebrows we wish we had.

Of course, her fans have been understanding, but cannot help expressing the disappointment they feel, and Adele would probably be proud of that.
