4 Tips for Getting Perfect Eyebrows

From Seventeen

1. Balance Out an Uneven Shape

"I have a small scar above my left eyebrow, so it's not as full as the right one." -Jillian, 18

FAST FIX: "Remember, your brows are sisters, not twins, so don't try to fight Mother Nature. Enhance and even out what you do have with a pencil. This one had an angled teardrop tip: use the wide base to fill in larger areas and the narrow end to add definition, like near the tail or in patchy spots and scars. For a soft war of color, blend with the attached spoolie," says Bailey.

2. Fill in Super-Sparse Brows

"I hate my patchy brows. The hairs are also very fine and short, which contrasts my huge curly 'fro." -Paige, 20

FAST FIX: "First, pluck strays or see a pro to define the shape - this actually makes them look fuller. Then, for fine brows, volume is key. This tinted volumizing gel has tiny fibers in it that mimic the look of real hair. Brush it on and they'll adhere to even peach fuzz, plumping the overall look," said Bailey.

3. Make Thin Brows Look Even Bolder

"Half of my brows are dark and noticeable, but the outside half disappears in the pictures. I want stronger brows without a drawn-on look." -Claudia, 19

FAST FIX: "A soft pomade sculpts and defines thin brows. Plus, it sticks to skin, not hair, so you can fill in bare areas. Dip an angled brush into the product, then make short hairlike strokes through the brow, from the inner corners out. Blend with a spoolie to soften the look," says Bailey.

4. Tame Unruly Hairs

"I love that my brows are full and thick, but they can be difficult to control." -Cathleen, 20

FAST FIX: "Most girls with full brows think they don't need to fill them in, but defining the natural brow line creates a clean shape. With a brush, press this wax along the edges and through to define and keep hairs in place. Go over it with the power and then finish with clear brow gel to lock everything in," says Bailey.
