Compulsions are a way of relieving stress and anxiety. There are many different types of obsessions and compulsions when it comes to OCD. For instance, the fear of contamination, compulsive counting, over checking and perfectionism, just to name a few.
According to research, for many people, OCD starts during childhood or the teen years. “Most people are diagnosed by about age 19. Symptoms of OCD may come and go and be better or worse at different times.”
