Pilgrims from Chennai, stranded in flood mayhem reach home safely

Flood victims from Chennai on Saturday praised their state government's efforts in rescuing stranded victims and getting them back home safely from Uttarakhand, which is devastated by the flood mayhem. Trapped in the flood-affected areas, pilgrims from Chennai had lost all contact with their near and dear ones back home. But instant rescue and evacuation efforts of the Tamil Nadu government saved them. Talking to media persons in Dehradun, Gagan Deep Bedi, Revenue Secretary of Tamil Nadu, said that all adequate arrangements have been made to ensure complete safety and comfort of the pilgrims so that they reach home safely. Though, a number of victims have been rescued, as relief and rescue operation is carried on in full pace, thousand others continue to be stranded in the affected areas.
