Maoists burn down house of rival leader in Jharkhand

In an apparent exposure of infighting between the left wing extremists, a group of Maoists burnt down the house of the leader of a rival faction in Jharkhand. The incident happened late Tuesday night when a team of Maoists belonging to the PLFI outfit attacked the house of Ravindar Yadav, the leader of a breakaway faction and forced out the occupants of the house and then set it on fire. Yadav was however not present there. The Maoists, who say they are fighting for the rights of the poor and landless and want to overthrow the government, have stepped up attacks in recent months.
