  • Chevy’s 2017 Bolt Electric Car Looks Shockingly Cool

Eleven months ago, Chevrolet promised to beat Tesla to building an affordable, yet long-range electric car, unveiling the Bolt concept car and vowing to build it next year. With a promised range of 200 miles on a charge, and a price tag in the range of $30,000 after government incentives, the Bolt was the most ambitious all-electric car from Detroit since General Motors’ ill-fated EV1. Since then, Chevrolet has been fairly quiet about the project, but as auto show season heats up, it’s clear the Bolt has moved closer to reality.

  • MacBook / MacBook Pro rumor roundup

Well the rumoratti has certainly been working overtime today when it comes to Apple, so we've decided to bundle all the news that's currently doing the rounds into one tasty and nutritious post.First up, there are new -- and quite detailed -- pictures out of what appears to be those MacBook and MacBook Pro casings we saw during the week. Again, we can't 100 percent confirm that these are the real deal, but they certainly have that Air-meets-MacBook hybrid quality to them that would suggest we're looking at the next iteration of the line.Secondly, Apple has gone and published a support document for the "MacBook/MacBook Pro (Late 2008)" -- which suggests (gasp!) that there might be some late 2008 refreshes in our future. Oh really? Weird. Rounding out the excitement, AppleInsider "confirms" the rumor that the new MacBooks will jettison the integrated Intel graphics which earlier models have used in favor of NVIDIA's MCP79 platform. The GPUs apparently use a new set of GeForce 9300 and 9400 chips that will make previous performance look archaic by comparison. Additionally, according to hotshot Mac rumor specialist Kevin Rose, the new systems will support Blu-ray drives, thus finally allowing you to watch season 4 of Lost the way the lord intended it.As with all rumors, you can never really know which one of these is going to stick, but luckily we won't have to wait very long to get to the bottom of it. In the meantime, feel free to peruse the various links below and soak in the sweet, sweet gossip.[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]Read - Leaked MacBook / MacBook Pro casing photosRead - Apple Document Confirms MacBook/MacBook Pro (Late 2008)Read - Apple dumping Intel chipsets for NVIDIA's in new MacBooksRead - Kevin Rose drops MacBook Blu-Ray Rumor at Live Diggnation event

  • iPod nano 4G rumors-a-go-go

Whoo baby, the rumors and pics just keep flowing out of the cyberwebs. Engadget has posted two blurry images since late last night. Not sketches or renderings or quiet whispers, but real photos. Or fake photos. Not like this type of fakery is hard. Still, all signs keep pointing to our beloved 3g nano going on a diet next Tuesday. Serious joggers everywhere may rejoice (personally I prefer the 2g form factor for running). One more thing... iTunes 8 would be a logical announcement, and the rumors of a subscription model might make sense. We got a suggestion (not a tip, this was merely someone's idea) that Apple might give away some flavor of iPod with a 2-year committment to subscribers. I'm not sure the "act now and we'll throw in this handy shuffle!" angle is Apple's style, but it might be the sort of thing they'd do in a soft economy to keep people hooked on the iTunes/iPod ecosystem. Either way we'll know in a few days, won't we? And yes, TUAW will liveblog the September 9th event for your amusement and edification.

  • Sony's new networked GIGA Juke stereos leaked

It looks like Sony has more than just cameras and digital photo frames up its sleeve these days, as we've just gotten a slew of leaked shots of its upcoming HiFi lineup. A number of the new systems seemed to be geared toward networked audio and video, and HDTV setups, with models like the NAS-S55HDE sporting features like an 80GB hard drive, the ability to act as a "music server," and wireless networking capabilities -- you know, regular GIGA Juke stuff. Check out all the specs after the break, and hit the gallery for a spy-rific view of your high-fidelity future.%Gallery-14943%

  • Nokia keeps 'em coming: possible N83 spotted

Yeah Nokia, we know you're hot stuff with your ten phones per minute release pace, but even we're a bit surprised to be seeing spy photos of an N83 slider a mere week after the release of your N72, N73 and N93 handsets. The projected release date for this S60 phone is a bit more reasonable, stated as Q1 2007, but with the sweet specs listed we're really not sure we can wait that long. The phone supposedly has a 2.5-inch-ish 352 x 416 pixel screen, Bluetooth 2.0, microSD, 5 megapixel and VGA cameras, UMTS, 802.11b/g, 4GB HDD (alright, now it's just getting ridiculous), and mini-jack audio. While those specs read just like a fanboy wishlist, we can clearly see the dual cameras and some sort of slide up media controls from the pics, along with plenty of screen real estate. For the rest of it we'll just have to spend a year on Santa's "nice" list and hope he has some sway with the Nokia elves.
