That Was Fast: First 'Used' McLaren P1 Already For Sale?

High Gear Media Network Feed

Apparently, someone had cold feet.

Alain Class Motors, an exotic-car dealer in the United Arab Emirates, already has a McLaren P1 for sale. While the car is listed as brand new with zero miles on the odometer, considering that McLaren took orders for the P1 directly from customers, it may have already gone through one owner's hands.

At any rate, this yellow example is most likely the first P1 available for sale through a dealership. That's a lucky break for anyone wishing to get a hold of one of the 375 units, all of which were thought to have been sold out.

The price is inquiry only, but McLaren set the original sticker at $1.15 million.

Just because it's fun to rehash epic statistics, let us remind you that the P1's powertrain consists of a 3.8-liter V-8 and an electric motor, which produce a combined 903 horsepower and 663 pound-feet of torque. It even has a Formula One-style Instant Power Assist System (IPAS) that allows the driver to access all of the electric motor's torque for quick bursts of acceleration.

The P1 will do 0 to 60 mph in under 3.0 seconds and reach an electronically-limited top speed of 217.5 mph. It also recently lapped Germany's Nürburgring-Nordschleife in under seven minutes.

That seems like enough to ensure that the P1 won't stay on the dealer lot for very long, even while sharing space with a pre-owned Bugatti Veyron Sang Noir and Ferrari F12 berlinetta, two other supercars in Alain Class' inventory. And not an inflatable tube man in sight.
