6 Sportscars You Should Look Forward To in 2014
At this year’s Detroit Auto Show, there was definitely no lack of sporty coupes. From the US to Japan, and everywhere in-between, automakers put to work their best engineers on a some sporty two-doors– and the results were mostly fantastic.
But which sportscars should you really be excited for? Here are six worth taking a look at:
If you love the outgoing Lexus IS F, there’s no reason you won’t love its two-door predecessor. The Lexus RC F is the 450+ horsepower two-door Lexus that you’ve been waiting for. It has sharp lines, a more powerful engine, and enough power to put the M4 on notice.
It’s finally here, the Supra successor everyone has been talking about. Or at least, a preview of it. The FT-1 (which stands for Future Toyota 1), is Toyota’s latest and greatest sportscar. But what makes it really great, are the Supra-reminiscent lines and the fact that some version of it might actually be produced.
Like Lexus, BMW is taking the two-door route with its latest sportscar. The M4 replaces the M3 coupe and comes with a 430 horsepower twin-turbo inline-six, a six-speed manual transmission, and of course, rear wheel drive.
The Corvette Stingray is nice and all, but it’s not until you catch a glimpse of the new supercharged Z06 that you get a sense the Corvette is a real American supercar. At 650 horsepower, the Z06 is ready to take its European rivals head on.
