6 Promising Sportscars to Expect in 2014
When we think about the current range of sportscars we have now in 2013, there’s a lot to work with. You’ve got the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ, the new Corvette Stingray, the Jaguar F-Type, the Nissan 370Z; the list goes on.
But we’ve only hit the tip of the iceberg. 2014 should bring with it a hoard of new sportscars both big and small. The fun, two-door formula is working now better than ever before, and these 6 beauties should be in showrooms sometime next year:
Following in the footsteps of Toyota, Nissan is planning a lightweight, rear-drive sportscar of its own. Not bearing a resemblance to the Esflow seen here (thankfully), the new Z car will carry a 4-cylinder engine and somewhere in the market of 200 horsepower.
If you’re a BMW fanboy, this is the car you’ve been waiting for. Replacing the outgoing BMW M3 coupe, the M4 will come with 430 horsepower, an inline-six, and yes, a manual transmission.
While the new Corvette Stingrays continue to sell like hotcakes, we still haven’t gotten word of a ZR1. But that’s ok, rumor has it it should come with 700+ horsepower. And that’s being modest.
The Subaru BRZ was and continues to be a smash hit. But for those of you looking for something a little hotter, the STI variant is the one to wait for.
