2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe First Caddy With 4G LTE Internet, CUE

The next generation of in-car infotainment systems is starting to arrive, and it's 4G internet connectivity. Audi offers it in a range of models, and following Chevy's 4G launch, the all-new 2015 ATS Coupe will be first in Cadillac's range to get the technology.

As part of GM's OnStar service, 4G LTE internet access will provide an ATS driver and passengers with much quicker internet than they're used to. 4G allows a faster and more reliable connection than 3G services, and Cadillac's in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot can support up to seven devices, including the car's own net-based functions. That should make it ideal for the other ATS debut, CUE Collection. CUE is Caddy's highly-rated infotainment system, featuring satnav, phone, weather and more, but Collection takes it a step further.

It's described as an in-car app marketplace, letting users organize, update or delete user-downloaded apps throughout the life of the vehicle. Initial downloads should include iHeartRadio, The Weather Channel, NPR and Slacker Radio, and more are sure to appear over time with a whole host of functions. Additional CUE features for 2015 include a new text message reading feature for Bluetooth-linked smartphones, preset responses to messages, and Siri Eyes Free for iPhone iOS6 and iOS7 users. The latter means voice-controlled connectivity for various smartphone functions, all while keeping your hands on the wheel.
