2013 LA Auto Show: What to Expect

If you haven’t already heard, next week marks the beginning of the 2013 LA Auto Show. As usual, we’re bound to see some of the biggest reveals of the year. Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, and Subaru — just to name a few — will all be showing off their latest and greatest creations.

Here’s a quick preview of what we can expect in the golden state (click the links to learn more):

Aston Martin Vanquish Volante Neiman Marcus

Following in a long line of special editions courtesy of Neiman Marcus, the all-new Aston Martin Vanquish Volante is the latest and greatest GT car to get a catalog makeover. Besides, the holidays are right around the corner.

Chevrolet Colorado

Colorado Teaser

Coming off a few seconds of success with its new truck lineup, Chevy thinks that it can break back into the small truck segment with a new Colorado. Let’s hope it works.

Jaguar F-Type Coupe

Unlike the F-Type convertible on which is based, the F-Type coupe will come with a closed top but hopefully still put to use that dirty sexy V8. Did we mention it will have a V8?

Lincoln MKC

04-2015 Lincoln MKC

As we’ve noted previously (here), the new MKC is bound the be the best-selling Lincoln in ages. Hopefully the MKZ, MKS and MK-whatever else they’re trying to sell follows suit.

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Final Edition

Double world premiere for Mercedes-AMG

It’s a sad day for Mercedes enthusiasts everywhere, the SLS AMG — Germany’s gullwinged prodigy — is ending production in 2014. But that doesn’t mean they can’t have some fun before it croaks. The SLS AMG GT Special Edition comes with 591 horsepower and a 6.3-liter V8.

Porsche Cayman GTS

A hotter, sexier Cayman is on its way to LA. Details are still slim at this point, but rumor has it a new gear box and, of course, more power are in order. (pictured: 2014 Porsche Cayman S)

Porsche Macan

Following the Cayenne straight from the bank, the new Porsche Macan is the smaller, nimbler crossover in the Porsche lineup. Like the Cayman GTS, we don’t know much about the Macan just yet, but we have seen a healthy heaping of concept renderings and spy shots.

Subaru Legacy

Unlike the lifeless Legacy in which is proceeds, this concept for the 2015 edition actually seems pretty promising. But then again, so did the WRX concept before some “official” images hit the web a few days ago.

Subaru WRX

And this is the image we’re talking about. Clearly, it’s not as appealing or blue as the concept we saw back at the beginning of the year, but rumor has it it’s going to keep the manual transmission and gain a CVT box for the less-inspired enthusiast. So it has that going for it.

…And those are just a few of the rides set to make their world debut in LA. Check out our 2013 LA Auto Show gallery section to see all the reveals, and stay tuned as we hit the show floor live beginning next week.
