The R8 4.2 SFI is a stunning car. With a naturally aspirated V8 that makes 414 horsepower, the lightweight, mid-engined two-door is praised as one of the great daily drivable supercars. But what if you wanted to do away with all of that refinement, and put more power under the hood than the Hammer of Thor? We may have found the right people to handle that.
The R8 V8 GTR by Pachura Moto Center is a monstrous, high-horsepower beast. The added oomph is provided by a pair of superchargers, making 710 horsepower. The superchargers were developed by TTS performance, and take the power of the V8 well over the 525 horsepower of the 5.2-liter V10.
The supercharged V8 gets the R8 GTR from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in a scant 3.2 seconds. It will go from 0 to 200 km/h (124 mph) in just 9.2 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 203 mph. The speed is not electronically limited, as in many production cars, but is limited by the gearing. According to a statement from Pachura, future versions of this vehicle will have taller gears for a higher top speed. Also, it does this:
The performance suspension has a hydraulic lift in the front axle that lets the R8 drive over speed bumps without scuffing the body work. That body kit includes aftermarket front bumper, rear bumper, and side sills. Other body mods include lightweight 19-inch wheels, a high rear wing, carbon fiber front hood, and side mirrors and engine cover from the actual R8 LMS racecar.
With the added power and race-sourced body work, this is one of the closest ways to own a LeMans racer for the road!
