I don’t think Billy Joel saw this coming when he wrote “Only the Good Die Young.” The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG — the insane German gull-winged goodness — is waving goodbye after only four years in the market. It’s a sad day indeed for SLS enthusiasts and Mercedes-Benz faithful — but there is a silver lining.

With the SLS AMG making its final appearance at next week’s LA Auto Show, it will bring with it a special Final Edition SLS for those of you looking to get one more taste of the Mercedes supercar. A proper sendoff for a proper sportscar.

The Final Edition will come with close to 583 horsepower, upgrades in styling and interior, and a few other modifications before it ends production for good near the middle of next year. So, we bid you farewell, you insane Mercedes, but we look on for the next great German supercar.
