The University of Wisconsin-La Crosse's top official has taken the first steps toward removing a faculty member who was earlier fired from his job as chancellor over his fledgling porn career. The former chancellor, Joe Gow, said Wednesday that interim Chancellor Betsy Morgan filed three charges against him March 29, accusing him of unethical conduct, failing to cooperate with an investigation, and using UW-La Crosse computers to produce pornographic materials. Gow declined to share a letter from Morgan detailing the charges, saying he didn't want to look as though he is trying to play out his case in the media.

A woman who sued Mississippi's capital city over the death of her brother has decided to reject a settlement after officials publicly disclosed how much the city would pay his survivors, her attorney said Wednesday. George Robinson, 62, died in January 2019, days after three Jackson police officers pulled him from a car while searching for a murder suspect. The Jackson City Council on Tuesday approved the payment of $17,786 to settle the lawsuit that relatives of Robinson filed in state court in October 2019, WLBT-TV reported.

Elias Huizar, 39, a former police officer in Yakima, went on the run Monday afternoon after killing two people, including his ex-wife, Amber Rodriguez, 31, whom he shot eight times outside a West Richland elementary school in front of their 9-year-old son and other witnesses, police said. Rodriguez had recently obtained a protection order against Huizar.

A fast food manager is being credited with saving a baby’s life. Security video from a Taco Bell in Richboro, Pennsylvania, shows a white car pulling up to the drive-thru window. The driver, Natasha Long, says she heard her 11-week-old son, Myles, having difficulty breathing in the backseat. Taco Bell manager Becky Arbaugh, herself a mother of two, says she dropped her headset and sprang into action. Arbaugh performed chest compressions until the baby started to breathe again.
