The Ford GT Configurator Is Here, Go Reserve Your $450,000 Ford Right Now

From Road & Track

Oh man, gearheads. It's here. Ford has finally flipped the switch on the website where you can configure your very own Ford GT. Head on over to FordGT.com right now and get to configuring!

Along with the new web tool, Ford gave out some new details about the street legal, production GT. The automaker says the American-made supercar will have "a starting price in the mid-$400,000s, excluding destination and delivery." Let's assume you'll spend at least $450,000 to get into your GT. Eight body colors and seven stripe colors are available, though Ford only showed six in the images released tonight.

And as was rumored last summer and confirmed by Ford earlier this year, prospective buyers can't just walk into their blue-oval store and plop down a deposit-there's an application process, and you have to be approved by Ford before you can order your GT. Like Ford's longtime rival, Ferrari, the process is meant to ensure that the few GTs that are produced get in the hands of loyal brand fans, not speculators intending to flip them for a profit.
