The Miami International Autodrome is taking shape in Miami Gardens, Florida, ahead of this spring's Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix, and organizers have not been shy about showing off the progress on social media.

The inaugural F1 Miami Grand Prix will be a three-day event, May 6-8, 2022, in Miami Gardens around the Hard Rock Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins football team. Images posted by the team in Miami are showing that this track is going to be anything but a parking lot, even though some of the track is literally carved out of some parking areas near the stadium.

According to the official Formula 1 website, the race will feature "the first circuit to be designed by and with the support of Formula 1. It will be a dynamic and free flowing track which will offer the latest 2022 cars to be put to the test on the first half of the calendar."

The circuit will be 3.36 miles (5.41 km) in length with 19 turns, three straights, three DRS (Drag Reduction System) zones and cars in the longest straight are expected to reach just a tick under 200 mph (320 kmh).

Miami and Formula 1 have a 10-year deal to race in South Florida.

The last major street race in Miami was the Formula E Miami ePrix in 2015. That race, however, was downtown.
