Cadillac ATS Loses 2 Doors and a Wreath in Detroit

If you thought BMW and Lexus were the only two automakers to bring sharp looking coupes to Detroit — think again. Cadillac made sure that its 2015 ATS Coupe made a splash at the Cobo Hall this year. The baby Cady coupe is a stunner and already one of our favorite two-doors of the coming model year.

While it may not have the same revolutionary styling at its CTS Coupe counterpart, the ATS coupe is a handsome and sophisticated luxury coupe. Styling does not stray much from the design of the four door, the coupe is just — more or less — a less practical, sportier version of Caddy’s entry-level sedan.

Oh, and we almost forgot to mention — the wreath. Well, lack thereof. That’s right, from here on out, Cadillac is ditching its iconic wreath logo in place of the simpler shield. In this writer’s opinion, it suits the new coupe very well.

Under the hood we see 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and a 3.6-liter V6, producing 272- and 321-horsepower, respectively. Engines are paired to a lighter and more agile body. 60 mph is reached in just 5.6 seconds, and rumor has it there may even be an ATS-V Coupe in the works. Here’s hoping.
