Stolen Saturn crash-lands on apartment roof
A Fresno car thief managed a Hollywood-quality stunt this week when he managed to land a stolen Saturn SL on the roof of an apartment. Was Red Bull involved?
Police say Benjamin Tucker, 25, stole the car from a nearby home and was fleeing around 1 a.m. Wednesday when he hit some landscaping rocks at just the right angle to clear the hedges and plant onto the roof. Tucker jumped from the roof, breaking his leg, but kept running until police caught him a quarter of a mile away.
The family sleeping inside the apartment was uninjured, but shocked to have their home impaled by a plastic-bodied GM sedan. He may be a thief, but Tucker can claim to be the first person to successfully launch a Saturn in decades.
