Remixing a ’69 Mustang and an Andretti-raced engine into “The Real Thing”

Two years ago, custom hot-rod celebrity Bodie Stroud set out to build an ultimate 1969 Ford Mustang Boss using one of the rarer engines ever to ride behind the pony -- an all-aluminum V-8 built for Mario Andretti to race in Can-Am. In "The Real Thing," filmmaker Julian King follows the progress of the 'Stang from flat-trailer rust pile to a seal of approval from Andretti himself. As custom Mustangs go, Stroud's counts as more of a remix than a restoration, but it preserves the spirit of the original Boss.
