Lexus RC F coupe revealed with brand’s most powerful V-8

As if the LFA wasn't evidence enough that Lexus was serious about building high performance sports cars, the LF-LC concept certainly did the trick. And Lexus' deviation from its bland grille of old to a new, cavernous spindle grille that terrifies passing golfers only emphasized its objective.

With the new IS boasting more angles than a polygon and the RC coupe appearing more menacing than Dennis, enthusiasts awaited the F variant -- a car promised to be the most aggressive production vehicle Lexus currently offers.

Wait no more: The RC F coupe, Lexus' most powerful V-8 performance car ever, has arrived.

Immediately you notice the bulging hood, like it contains a baby elephant, or something. According to Lexus, it doesn't accommodate an elephant or a small dog or even a child; rather it's enlarged specifically to house the all-new V-8 engine that produces 450-hp.

Its wheels and tires, too, are wider, and things like a carbon-fiber active rear wing, air scoops, cooling ducts and other carbon goodies make the RC F more over-styled than David Beckham's hair. It features Nike ticks below the headlamps, something Lexus debuted first on the IS, and the sharp aforementioned angular grille poses next to the sleeker, curvier lines of the car's silhouette. The rear end, with its quad exhausts, looks straight gangster, and yet it somehow seems to work.

Lexus has steadily been producing more exciting cars of late, and the RC F keeps to that tradition. We'll see when we get behind the wheel whether it can dethrone Ze Germans.
