Every weekday we feature a beautiful photo from the Flickr universe, like this shot of a young Henry Ford on the beaches of Atlantic City in the summer of 1905, courtesy of The Henry Ford museum. Ford was there attempting to promote his fledgling auto business by racing the Model K, an expensive, six-cylinder car Ford had been talked into building by his business partners. Despite the dangers of open-air racing -- already a deadly pursuit for many -- Ford ran the Model K himself, without success. After the Model K debacle, Ford began his push to build a cheap car for everyday people that ended with the Model T, later saying: "Failure is only an opportunity to begin again more intelligently."
