Deft use of textures, tones and densities from Yahoo Homes’ Flickr group

Everything about Flickr user Fat Cat Brussels' photostream inspires us, but these two bathroom photos show off her design sense most vividly, we think. She uses blacks, whites and angles in a "soft" way that makes them livable, mixing in plants and wood that both echo and counteract the stark contrasts and edges.

She calls the photo on the right "Hippie madness in the bathroom," and we love the modern spin she puts on the '70s. The white lines of the macrame follow the spider plants' leaves and the pattern in the shower curtain -- and that pattern picks up even something so prosaic as the grout lines in the tile. That kind of attentiveness to detail reminds us of another European home that we wrote about last year: Remember our "Design tips from a tiny Swedish apartment"?

Don't miss the rest of Fat Cat Brussels' home photos on Flickr. And Fat Cat has a blog, too -- including a post where she wrote briefly about the photos you see here.
