’33 Ford wins America’s most beautiful street rod title

’33 Ford wins America’s most beautiful street rod titleEarlier this year we showed you the 1927 Ford that won the coveted America's Most Beautiful Roadster trophy. This car above, a 1933 Ford owned by Harold and Tracy Chapman of Texas, was a close runner-up — but it now has its own bragging rights for winning the Goodguys' America's Most Beautiful Street Rod award last weekend in California.

Built by Chapman in his Customs & Hot Rods of Andice shop, the '33 has been heavily reworked from its original shape, starting with a roof moved backward an inch and a half and continuing through more than 100 custom parts. After languishing in other shops for a decade, the Chapmans chose to finish the car in its "pretty penny" paint color. The interior gauges might look familiar to fans of a different make — they're from a Studebaker, but flipped upside down — and power comes from a 427 Roush Ford V-8.
