• Why Boudoir Photography is Hot.

As a professional photographer, (www.jbrownphotography.com) I have received many requests from women to have boudoir photographs taken for their husbands and boyfriends.

What is boudoir photography?

Boudoir photography involves creating intimate and romantic images of oneself, most commonly wearing lingerie. Boudoir is a French term for bedroom, which is an ideal setting for these photographs.

So why are these types of photographs so popular?

Well, mainly because men like sexy photos of women and women like to look sexy for their men (and themselves). Today, women are choosing to express their inner goddess and Get Their Sexy On with classy, sassy photos of themselves in lingerie, or little else. A photograph like this will really spice things up!

Having a boudoir photograph is a rising trend for brides, as these photographs are taken at one of the most beautiful times in their lives. Many brides give an album to their husband on their wedding night. It is also popular to give as a first year anniversary gift, which traditionally is paper.

But are brides the only ones who should get a boudoir photograph? No! • Traditional photography vs. photojournalism. Or, what to look for in a wedding photographer.

Your wedding is the most important day of your life. Your photographs are what you and your family will have to remember that day. Your wedding photographs get handed down from generation to generation.

When choosing a photographer make sure you go with a trusted professional. Look at several wedding albums, ask to see current stuff and feel free to ask for references.

I have been photographing weddings in Atherton, Los Gatos and the surrounding Bay Area for ten years. I consider my style to be a fresh, candid photojournalistic approach.

The main difference between traditional and photojournalism is the posing. Traditional photographs are posed with the bridal couple looking at the camera. Photojournalism captures moments as they happen, capturing looks and tender glances, expressions and funny moments before they disappear. People are natural looking and look like themselves. They are not stiff and uncomfortable.

I recognize that every bride wants stunning bridal portraits of herself! And if she can get fantastic looking ones of her and her husband, that's even better. I create contemporary bridal portraits with the couple are semi posed, sitting or lying down. These photos showcase the bride and groom, but they do not look stiff or uncomfortable, but rather like they are having fun together.

I like to capture the personalities of the couple and their wedding party. Your photographs can tell a lot about who you are, they tell the entire story of your day.

Brides today are very aware of current trends in photography. I utilize my top notch post production skills to deliver elegant photographs in black and white, sepia, chocolate or an edgy cross processed look. Brides typically want 75 % of their pictures in color with the other 25% being black and white or sepia. I have also noticed that brown and white photographs are the current favorite, surpassing black and white. Brides feel it is new and sensual. The warm tone of the brown and white give a creamy look to all skin tones and is very flattering.

My studio specializes in custom one-of-a-kind wedding album design. My albums artfully display your photographs. My goal is to deliver a product that far exceeds your expectations.

I invite you to look at my website and experience my passion. http://www.jbrownphotography.com
