• OMG! I’m so Friggin Soft.......LUBRIDERM Daily Moisture Shea + Calming Lavender Jasmine Lotion Review

The scent is almost dare I say…..SENSUAL! Upon first glimpse I imagine some sort of smooth custard being slathered all over my body and then to my surprise it literally leaves my skin extremely soft and touchable for the full 24 hour or more. The makers didn't lie about how calming and relaxing it is especially when whipped up after a shower either before bed or headed into a long scary day. ...

  • Shine Beauty Guru Review: Almost Good Enough To Eat! SoftSoap Strawberry Body Wash

SoftSoap Body Butter Strawberry Smoother Body Smoothing Wash is exactly that, almost good enough to eat! At first glance, it reminds you of your favorite ice cold, chunky fruit drink. As thick as most shakes or even thicker, this body smoother gently exfoliates, moisturizes and smells delectable in the shower. The exfoliating beads rate 0 at harshness and deliver just the right amount of scrub on elbows, knees and heels. The rest of the product itself is simultaneously thick and smooth with a lotion like texture that lathers every part of the body beautifully. After every shower, my entire body not only feels but looks soft. I apply my favorite body butter to soak in the moisture and for the next twelve hours or at least until my next steam filled rendezvous my skin is born again.

The bottle itself is ergonomically correct; easy to hold and use while bathing. I also love the fact that this product looks like an actual smoothie; you can see the color and beads right through the bottle, leaving you craving your favorite non-calorie smoothie. SoftSoap definitely gets a nine for concocting such goodness just one point shy of ten only because the strawberry scent tends to be a little weak for my taste and I could name about two other body wash brands with a longer lasting, stronger scent. Otherwise, I've just found my new bath time staple.

  • Colgate 360 Sonic Power Toothbrush Review - Shine Beauty Guru

So, because I had never tried a "powered" toothbrush, I'm more a traditional girl myself, I was initially a little skeptical but at the same time very excited. At first glance, I was immediately happy w/ the pink & white color and wide handle. Many times w/ other tooth brushes I've used my hand slips off the skinny handle and causes me to scrape the inside of my mouth, so a Big handle is a definite plus.
I was a little confused on what to do at first; do I brush as normal or just hold it and let it do all the work? But I quickly found out that brushing as normal allowing the vibrations to do all the work was the correct way to go. Although, the bristles are stiff, I favor that over soft ones w/ no scrubbing power. Although, I was able to reach all of my teeth from every angle I didn't get the whole "flexible bridge" thing. I could reach them just as good w/ some of the other brushes I've used in the past. The on & off switches are easily accessible & it even comes w/ a battery and ready to use. I did like the tongue & cheek scraper as an added accessory but wishes it was a little thicker.

My overall rating of the Colgate 360 ActiFlex SonicPower Toothbrush is high 8 especially since every time I use it my teeth feel really clean as if I've just left the dentist. I'm as HAPPY as a 5 year old when routinely brushing these ol' teeth of mine, LOL. However, with a just under $6 price point it may not be feasible for all but a definite do if you're looking to feel dare I say......young again!
• Shine Beauty Guru: Hydrogen with a double dose of Oxygen - My Summer Must Have

The summer must have beauty item that I can't live without is the infallible liquid H2O.

  • Shine Beauty Guru: It may not be the Second Coming BUT it sure is Revolutionary

Secrets new Clinical Strength Waterproof Wetness Protection antipersperent is actually a good investment. I decided to test it out during a road trip to a family reunion in southern Indiana where it was already 90 degrees back in May; so I knew this would end up being either the perfect time to shine or the wrong time to give a hug. Amongst my first impressions was its strong cologne scent. For an entire day, I thought I was smelling the sweet, masculine savorings of my Hubby but finally figured out it was just lil ole me, duhh.
The product itself is one of those twist up and push deals, not really too fond of those, however, it got the job done. It's creamy formula makes it imperative to waiting a few minutes before getting dressed. However, once it's on, it stays put and invisible all day. It kept me completely dry while trecking through the sweltering 92 degree sun.
On the way home was where my appreciation for this sweat slayer really kicked in. Our air conditioning in the car decided to quit, and besides the "warm" breezes that crept through the windows, my under arms were completely dry and pleasantly scentful.
So although this is no where near the March on Washington, the fact that it kept me dry in desert like surroundings, proved me disloyal to my current brand and entices me to look forward to purchasing it in the near future, I'd say this is my idea of REVOLUTIONARY!

  • Shine Beauty Guru: My Beauty Transformation

When it comes to a beauty makeover I'm known as the "Queen" of hair transformations. Although, I'm a Makeup Artist by trade, onlookers will ALWAYS bare witness to my different, creative coifs. From naturals to braids to a combination of not safe for work un-be-weave-able colors, I love trying new things with my hair and enjoy being my own experiment. Some of my hair choices have even shocked my hairdresser. One to never idle in the boredom of my natural hair color a.k.a my number one nemesis, sometimes even my cornrows have a rockstar flare. As to not be known as a "wild child", I can on occasion have relations w/ a tamer side but if you were to ask me my true calling......I'd say anything in a purple, pink or blue!

  • Shine Beauty Guru Review: CoverGirl Smokey Shadow Blast is somewhat of a blast

I took the opportunity to use the Covergirl Smokey Shadow Blast product during a rock star themed photo shoot I served as a Makeup Artist for. Covergirl is a drugstore staple known for producing high quality, affordable cosmetics and the fact that it was FREE sent me into euphoric excitement. As a s

  • Mmmm, Spring should be just a little bit BRIGHTER!.......My CND nail color review

When it comes to nude nails CND's (Creative Nail Design) Desert Suede is pretty much a keeper. This color goes right along w/ the new spring-like pastels that are all over the runways right now. Also, no need to change colors when changing outfits this goes with every thing even for those yearning a no polish look. Its texture is smooth, reminiscent of creamy butterscotch with a faint touch o' peach. I'd give it about a 7 on the fabulous scale no higher only because I REALLY enjoy color and a little more funk to my nails. Also, after a couple of days it started to chip and it only took that long for the dull factor to set in. Tip: after the first 2 days, keep a bottle of shiny top coat on hand, you'll definitely need it. The CND Gold Shimmer was brighter and worked well but I'd probably wear it alone w/ a triple coat. I applied it over the nude color and it looked a little too cheesy for my taste, but, could just be me, maybe I'm missing the ka-pow colors, feathers and rhinestones I'm used to. Again, these colors are good, but Spring should be just a little bit brighter!

  • 60+ Beauty Obsessions!

When it comes to my beauty obsession, the shinier the better…on my lips that is. There's nothing I look forward to more than gloss ridden, kissable lips. One might say I'm an addict with an addiction to attention as my lips forever command a lot. My infatuation began more than 15 years ago with th

  • Shine Beauty Panel

The one beauty item that I could not live without would unequivocally have to be my Cococare Cocoa Butter Lip balm. I absolutely love this product mainly for its hydrating properties. Because I'm "blessed" with extremely dry skin and most notably, dry lips, I demand a balm that provides long lasting results. After blowing money on countless drugstore and higher end brands, the discovery of Cococare was like a Godsend. Packed with the soothing protectants of cocoa butter and aloe vera, it melts into every unruly crack and quietly sloughs away pesky dead skin. The texture is incredibly smooth (easily compared to silk), soft to the touch, non-greasy, no over powering smell and still visible in the PM, between meals and even after a long nights sleep. My puckers are softer than a baby's backside and exhibit nothing less than the sexiest conditioned sheen. I'm so infatuated with Cococare that I've begun using their butter stick on other dehydrated body parts. My balm goes everywhere, worn under every gloss and would be the first thing taken on a deserted island. With a retail price of only $1.19 (most drugstores), you really couldn't beat this beauty must have with a stick.
