The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe got a frightening notice from the Trump administration just as residents are grappling with the devastating impact of COVID-19.
Gov. Gina Raimondo is demanding a two-week self-quarantine for travelers from New York state, the U.S. disease epicenter.
The statement accompanying the president's signature on the new law appears to countermand an oversight provision worked out by both parties.
“I reached out to the White House last night, asked for a phone call with the president," she said as Trump trashed her to Hannity over coronavirus criticisms.
"The U.S. response is a catastrophe that is on track to cost hundreds of thousands of lives," Maddow tweeted after the president thanked her.
New York's mounting toll is a "warning to other areas about what may happen or what may already be starting to happen," said the CDC's Anne Schuchat.
"My brother didn’t have to die,” Kious Kelly's sister tweeted. “Healthcare providers need Personal Protective Equipment NOW!”
