    Julia Childs Heyl, MSW, is a clinical social worker and writer. She is passionate about mental health, wellness, and health disparities in BIPOC communities. She uses critical race theory as her preferred theoretical framework. In her clinical work, she specializes in treating anxiety, depression, and trauma through psychodynamic depth therapy and EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) trauma therapy. Identifying as a holistic-minded clinician and writer, Julia views mental health as a relationship between the soul, self, and systemic structures in our lives. She has a Master of Social Work degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills. She also holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in English Literature from the University of California, Los Angeles.
