The completely redesigned 2020 Kia Soul has finally been crash tested by IIHS, and the results are quite good. The main reason for the higher overall rating is because of an improved passenger-side small overlap crash test result.

  • The Citroen C4 Cactus is nearly dead, and that's probably for the best

At Autoblog, we have a special fondness for the Citroen C4 Cactus. A couple of our past editors were particularly into the odd crossover and even managed to drive one of the first-generation models in the U.S. So our initial reaction was sadness when hearing from Top Gear that the model was being discontinued after the current generation. What made the C4 Cactus so lovable and strange when it first launched was its styling (above), and in particular, its AirBumps.

  • 2019 Hyundai Tucson upgraded to an IIHS Top Safety Pick+

The 2019 Hyundai Tucson compact crossover received a number of updates for the new model year. Each model year of Tucson has a number of slightly different headlight configurations, but the best possible headlights on the 2018 model were rated the second highest score of "Acceptable." The 2019 Tucson now has a couple of headlight configurations rated the highest score of "Good." This improvement was enough to give the Tucson the highest Top Safety Pick+ rating — at least those examples equipped with the best headlights. As for the rest of the Tucson's scores, it earns the "Good" rating in every single crash test, including the passenger-side small-offset crash.

  • Nissan e-NV300 turned into an environmentally friendly ice cream van

When it comes to reducing carbon emissions and other air pollutants, we typically focus on consumer vehicles, but they're far from the only vehicles that could use improvement. In particular, low-speed local vehicles such as buses and delivery vehicles could be excellent targets for electrification. Nissan chose a more fun example, though, in the form of an ice cream van based on the Nissan e-NV200, an electric commercial van available in Europe.

  • Most Americans think you won't be arrested for driving after using pot

AAA recently released the results of its annual traffic safety survey, and it revealed some concerning things about marijuana use and driving. One of the most surprising results was that 70% of respondents didn't think driving after having used weed within an hour would result in an arrest. Some of this may have to do with legal gray areas as marijuana becomes increasingly legalized, plus the fact that ways of quickly and accurately detecting marijuana usage haven't proliferated to the level of alcohol breathalyzers.
