    Myron Rolle almost missed FSU’s game against Maryland because of his Rhodes Scholarship ceremony three hours before kickoff. Myron Rolle belongs in the latter category. On Friday, Rolle, a former Florida State defensive star and fourth-year medical student, announced he matched with Massachusetts General Hospital and will head to Harvard’s neurosurgery residency program in Boston.

  • Former Georgia defensive end Quentin Moses dies in house fire

    Former Georgia star defensive end Quentin Moses died tragically in a house fire in Monroe, Georgia, Sunday morning. As reported by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, authorities found Moses, 33, unconscious inside the house and moved him outside. Two others, Andria Godard, 31, and her daughter Jasmine Godard, 10, were found dead inside the house.

  • 4-star WR recruit cited for marijuana possession on Ohio State visit

    Do not expect James Robinson’s name to be on Ohio State’s list of 2017 signees come Wednesday’s National Signing Day. Robinson, the 16th best wide receiver in 2017 according to Rivals.com, took an official visit to the Buckeyes last weekend and was not on his best behavior during his time in Columbus. Franklin County court records reveal that Robinson was cited for marijuana possession while being hosted by Ohio State.

    Clemson WR Mike Williams took a vicious hit during Monday night’s national championship game. The Big 12 referee crew missed two obvious targeting penalties in the first quarter of Monday night’s College Football Playoff National Championship Game as college football continues to inconsistently define targeting. Early in the game, Alabama linebacker Reuben Foster used his forearm to nearly decapitate Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson to the tune of no whistle.

A defensive battle in the first quarter, West Virginia scored the only touchdown of the period with a 6-yard run from running back Kennedy McCoy.

    Defenses do not intimidate Jeff Brohm and his Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. Pouring 58 points on Louisiana Tech’s defense, Western Kentucky revenged its October loss to the Bulldogs to take home the Conference USA Championship for a second consecutive year by a final score of 58-44. The Conference USA Championship lived up to its billing as a battle of offensive fireworks. The game broke the conference championship record for total points scored and racked up 1,170 yards of total offense between the two teams. After trading field goals to start the game, Western Kentucky’s senior running back Anthony Wales scored the first touchdown of the day on a 15 yard scamper.
