Rubbing salt in the wound even further was the fact that Mitsubishi repurposed its coveted Eclipse nameplate to a crossover. AutoCarUK reportedly received word that Mitsubishi could be bringing back the Lancer Evolution.

  • Woman test-drives a new 2019 Honda Accord — and keeps on going

    Typically when shopping for a new car, the song and dance at a dealership is pretty standard, including a salesperson riding shotgun on your test drive. The Oakland Press reports that police are on the hunt for a woman who took an all-new, gray 2019 Honda Accord on a test drive June 15 from Page Honda in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. After she disappeared into the day, the dealership reported it stolen. Presumably the dealership copied her driver's license and other identifying information, assuming it's genuine, of course.

    James Bond is known for piloting all sorts of cars from Aston Martin, Lotus, and even BMW. Norwegian news outlet Dagbladet reportedly caught wind of the movie's filming and production along Norway's scenic Atlantic Coast, where a later Aston Martin V8 Vantage Series II was spotted during a car chase cut.

  • FCA's U.S. sales chief sues company for wrongful retaliation

    Some fresh controversy is brewing at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles as The Detroit News reports that the head of U.S. sales has filed a federal whistleblower lawsuit against the company.. Reid Bigland, who's also in charge of the Ram truck brand, alleges that FCA made him a scapegoat for wrongful sales inflation practices and fixing vehicle sales statistics, which are currently under investigation by federal agents. Bigland claims that FCA executives punished him for cooperating with the federal investigators in the case by cutting his pay by more than 90 percent, according to the lawsuit he filed.

    The annual Overland Expo West is set to occur this weekend at the Fort Tuthill County Park in Flagstaff, Ariz.. Celebrating the great outdoors and the vehicles that get enthusiasts to its less-traveled spots, Nissan decided to steal some of the limelight with two decked-out trucks. One is a Frontier-based concept, and the other is this "Ultimate Parks Titan," which will be donated to the Grand Canyon Service Conservancy in a partnership with the National Park Foundation. As part of Nissan's "Calling all Titans" campaign, Nissan will be donating this decked-out Titan XD gas model for use by the conservancy as part of celebrating the Grand Canyon's centennial as a national park.

    The Dearborn automaker is reportedly dialing back production of its 5.0-liter V8 due to dwindling demand as buyers are opting more for the EcoBoost V6 engines. Automotive News Canada spoke with Ford Canada's spokesman Matthew Drennan-Scace and John D'Agnolo, president of Unifor Local 200, which represents workers at Ford's Windsor Engine Plant in Canada. "All employees affected by the shift reduction will have the opportunity to move to Windsor Engine Plant Annex to support 7.3-liter engine production," Drennan-Scace told Automotive News Canada in an email.
